an obsession continued

So since I began with the printmaking obsession It has just gotten worse and worse. I searched out and found an entire cabinet full of letterpress type and equipment (no press ) for sale in L.I. and made the hubby drive out there with me and pick it up (this was bout a month ago).

What a find! Now all I need is the press and I'm good to go.

I've been picking these little vintage plates up since the summer, building a nice little collection, I think.

I just set up my first plate in the chase that came with the letterpress set. I don't have the proper tools really and the press I'm using is far from ideal but we'll see how it all works out.

the beginning of an obsession

While in college I did some silkscreen print work and fell in love with the idea of being able to make multiples. I've since been dreaming of going back into a silkscreen studio but can't find the time or one that is close enough to home. So I've been working on different types of printing. I even decided to hand print all of my wedding invites from a linocut I carved and a stamp I ordered. WoW what an undertaking that was but they turned out fine.
